MARGAO: An unidentified elderly man, believed to be around 70 years old, was found lying unconscious on the footpath along Station Road, Margao, on the evening of September 7.
Police said that the man was noticed by locals around 7:35 pm, following which PCR Panaji alerted the authorities. He was immediately shifted to South Goa District Hospital by a 108 emergency vehicle, where the duty doctor declared him brought dead.
Enquiry later revealed that the deceased was a beggar who had been living on Station Road, Margao, for the past few months. The body has been preserved at the District Hospital for medico-legal formalities.
Further investigation is being carried out by PSI Subhash Gaonkar of Margao Town Police Station.
