BRITTONA: A homeless man, believed to be between 35 and 40 years old, passed away after suffering seizures near the fish jetty in Brittona, Bardez. The unidentified individual was rushed to the Goa Medical College (GMC), Bambolim, but was declared dead in the casualty ward.
According to police, the incident was registered as an Unnatural Death (UD) at 4:04 p.m. on July 10, 2025, following communication (w/m No. 5640/2025) from GMC authorities under MLC No. 25/6380.
Preliminary inquiries by PSI Pratik S. Tulaskar revealed that the deceased had been living in and around the jetty area for some time and was known to clean the premises. He reportedly slept in open spaces near the jetty.
Eyewitnesses and locals reported that the man began experiencing seizures before collapsing. He was transported for medical treatment by an EMRI 108 ambulance but succumbed while undergoing treatment.
No identity documents or personal belongings were found at the location where he had been staying. Police have circulated a detailed description of the deceased to all stations in a bid to establish his identity. Legal formalities are underway.
Authorities urge anyone with information about the deceased to contact the local police station.
