PANAJI: Panaji Police have registered an unnatural death case after an unidentified male body was found floating in the Mandovi river near the Deltin Royal Casino jetty.
According to police, the incident was reported on April 1, 2026 at around 4:45 pm after a PCR call informed authorities that a body was seen floating in the river. Fire and emergency services personnel retrieved the body from the water.
Police said the deceased is an unknown male aged approximately 30–35 years. He was found wearing yellow innerwear and navy blue shorts. The body is described as having a dark complexion, about 5 feet in height, with beard and moustache.
A scene of occurrence panchanama was conducted and the body was shifted to the GMC morgue at Bambolim for further procedures and identification.
