PORVORIM: A 51-year-old man was found lying unconscious near the Women’s Working Hostel on the service road in Porvorim and was later declared dead upon arrival at Goa Medical College (GMC) Hospital, Bambolim.
The Porvorim Police have registered a case of unnatural death under UD No. 29/2025, U/s 194 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS) 2023.
According to police reports, a phone call was received at Porvorim Police Station at around 1:24 PM on June 1, 2025, from an unknown caller, reporting that an unknown male person was lying unconscious on the service road. PSI Sachin Shirodkar along with police staff immediately visited the spot.
The unconscious individual was located near the Women’s Working Hostel, Porvorim, and 108 ambulance services were already at the scene.
The individual was later identified from documents found in his possession as Mr. Ayub Khan, son of Khalandar Khilledar, aged 51 years, and a resident of House No. 1032, Sucorro, Porvorim, Bardez, Goa. He was shifted to GMC Bambolim by the ambulance services.
However, medical staff at the hospital declared him brought dead, as confirmed by a ward memo (No. 4142/205) issued on June 1, 2025.
Following the confirmation of death, the Porvorim Police formally registered a case of unnatural death. PSI Sachin Shirodkar has been assigned to carry out further inquiry to ascertain the cause and circumstances surrounding the death.
