MARGAO: An unidentified male, believed to be around 40 years old, who had been undergoing treatment at the South Goa District Hospital (SGDH), Margao, after being found in a helpless condition last month, passed away on Monday morning.
Police received information at around 9.30 am on January 12 from SGDH Margao that the man, who was admitted on December 26, 2025, after being found lying near Old Hari Mandir, Margao, had expired during the course of treatment.
During enquiries, police learned that the deceased was a beggar who had been staying near Station Road, Margao, for the past couple of months. His identity is yet to be established.
The body has been preserved at SGDH Margao for further medico-legal formalities. Further enquiry in the case is being carried out by LPSI Aanushka Parab of Margao Town Police Station.
