VASCO: Vasco railway police on Friday morning found the body of an unidentified man lying near the down line at Chandor yard.
According to police, information was received from the Deputy Station Manager, Vasco da Gama, at around 8.11 am on November 7, stating that a male body was spotted along the track. A police team visited the site and found the man lying dead by the railway line.
A scene panchanama was conducted, and the body has been preserved at South District Hospital, Margao, for medico-legal examination and identification.
Preliminary enquiry suggests that the man might have died while walking or crossing the railway track. Vasco railway police have registered a case of unnatural death under Section 194 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).
Further investigation is being carried out by PSI Krishna Talpi under the supervision of PI Amarnath Passi and the guidance of DySP Gurudas Kadam.
