Canacona: Canacona Police have initiated an inquiry into the death of an unidentified man, aged between 40 and 45 years, reportedly a native of Odisha, who was found hanging at Dylon Bar & Restaurant, Palolem.
According to police, a phone call was received at 9:08 a.m. on Tuesday from the on-duty doctor at CHC Canacona, informing that the man had been brought dead to the hospital’s casualty ward as a case of hanging.
During inquiry, the police spoke to Dylon Max Diniz, owner of Dylon Bar & Restaurant, who stated that the deceased had come to his restaurant on October 26 seeking employment. Diniz had offered him a job as a dishwasher, but was unable to provide any identity details of the man.
The body has been preserved at South Goa District Hospital, Margao, for medico-legal formalities and identification.
Further investigation is being carried out by PSI Babu Dessai of Canacona Police Station.
