Vasco: An unidentified male was found lying unconscious and later declared dead near Jai Hind Hotel in Vasco on the evening of December 24, 2025.
According to police, at around 7.25 pm, Vasco Police received a phone call from a police constable of the Vasco Railway Police Station informing that an unknown man was lying unconscious near Jai Hind Hotel. Police personnel immediately visited the spot and found the man, believed to be aged between 40 and 45 years, lying in an unconscious state near a roadside garden opposite the hotel.
The 108 ambulance staff who arrived at the scene examined the man and declared him dead. Police conducted a scene of occurrence panchanama and an inquest panchanama over the body. During enquiries, local taxi drivers informed police that the deceased was a beggar or ragpicker who frequented the area.
The body has been preserved at the South Goa District Hospital (SGDH), Margao, for further medico-legal formalities and identification.
Further enquiry in the matter is being carried out by PSI Mayur Sawant of Vasco Police Station.
