MARGAO: Police recovered the body of an unidentified man from beneath the bridge connecting Loutolim to Verna IDC on Sunday afternoon.
According to Maina Curtorim Police, information was received around 2:08 p.m. regarding a male person lying by the roadside at Loutolim. Upon verification, officers found the body of a man aged between 35 and 40 years, bearing injuries on the head and legs.
Preliminary enquiries revealed that the deceased was reportedly seen roaming in the Verna area and is suspected to have been suffering from mental health issues.
A panchanama of the scene of the unnatural death was conducted, and the body has been preserved at South Goa District Hospital, Margao, for medico-legal examination and identification.
Further enquiry is being conducted by PSI Gaurav Naik of Maina Curtorim Police Station.
