PANAJI: In a thrilling matchup at the DSYA ground in Curtorim, United Club Seraulim outmaneuvered Sao Jose De Areal with a convincing 5-2 victory, advancing to the semifinals of the 1st Vauradencho Ixtt Trophy 2025. This triumph was marked by a stellar performance from Keith Rodrigues, who was subsequently awarded the Man of the Match. The game, organized by Batora United Club and Margao Sports Club, saw a dramatic shift in momentum before United Club Seraulim dominated the final session.
The match began with United Club Seraulim taking an early lead, thanks to Keith Rodrigues’ goal in the 11th minute, followed by Ashley Fernandes’ strike in the 27th minute. Despite a powerful attempt by Sao Jose De Areal’s Raymond Fernandes that hit the crossbar, United Club Seraulim maintained a 2-0 advantage at halftime.
In the second session, Sao Jose De Areal mounted a comeback, with Raymond Fernandes scoring in the 35th minute and Aryan Carvalho finding the net in the 39th minute. However, this resurgence was short-lived as United Club Seraulim regained control in the final session. Keith Rodrigues completed his brace with a goal in the 51st minute, while Mohammad Shail and Shashank Shanke added to the tally with goals in the 49th and 58th minutes, respectively.
The victory was a testament to United Club Seraulim’s resilience and teamwork.
