PORVORIM: Absconding accused wanted in ₹17 crore cheating case related to construction firm at Succor, Bardez was nabbed from Dehradun, Uttarakhand by Porvorim Police.
The accused identified as Ashok Kumar Maurya from Gorakhpur, Uttar Pardesh had cheated the Succor bases construction company, Aditi Constructions to the tune of ₹17 crore.
A complaint to this effect was filed by the company CEO on Dec 28,2023. Ashok who was an accountant at the firm was entrusted with the work to maintain company accounts, transfer payments, investments in shares and daily stock trading through the company’s account.
He had left Goa after committing the crime and was on the run. However he misappropriated the money belonging to the company amounting to ₹17 crore committing breach of trust. He was nabbed from Uttarakhand on Jan 1 by Porvorim police.
