MARGAO: USC Seraulim defeated the sporting Club of Davorlim 1-0 goal and moved into the quarter-final of the inter-village football tournament of St Sebastian Union Club at Dando grounds, Benaulim.
Davorlim dominated early on, nearly scoring in the 10th minute, but Seraulim’s keeper, Milton D’Souza, pulled off a sensational save to deny Ajay Raj.
The tide turned in the 24th minute when Savan Lotlikar delivered a pinpoint pass to Nayab Khan.
In a moment of brilliance, Khan outwitted the Davorlim goalkeeper and slotted the ball into the net, putting Seraulim ahead 1-0. Despite Davorlim’s relentless attacks in the second half, their forwards faltered, missing several golden opportunities.
Seraulim’s defence showcased remarkable resilience, thwarting every attempt and maintaining their slender lead. As the final whistle blew, Seraulim emerged victorious, advancing to the quarter-finals, leaving Davorlim to rue their missed chances.
