USGAO: Two brothers suffered fractures to their legs in a collision between two cars on the small, accident-prone road in Khursakade, Usgao.
Information that is now available indicates that the accident happened when the car carrying two brothers, Sakib Muktavar Shaikh (20) and Ayaam Muktavar Shaikh (27), collided with the Zonal Agriculture Office vehicle that was traveling in the direction of Panaji.
Sakib and Ayaam were transferred to the Goa Medical College and Hospital at Bambolim GMC after suffering leg fractures as a result of the impact. The collision severely damaged both cars. When the people learned of the disaster, they pointed the finger at the Khursakade tiny road, which the authorities had connected to the Khandepar four-lane highway.
“This area is a death trap for vehicles,” stated Sandeep Parkar, a local. Six animals have perished on the spot in Khursakade in the last year, and four fatalities have been reported there. “NH authorities have been urged by the locals to widen the sharp turn that connects the narrow road.
