PORVORIM: PWD Minister Nilesh Cabral today informed that his department is taking utmost care to supply pure drinking water, and there should not be any fear and anxiety in the minds of the people of Ramnagar area, village Betim in Reis Magos.

He further said that it is also seen that drains are constructed in some areas over the distribution/branch lines, and estimates are being prepared for shifting the same on a safe alignment.
“Besides this, PWD has deployed its personnel to detect any leakages in the distribution system and also in service connection pipelines,” he added.
The minister said that in the Ramnagar area, a ward in Reis Magas village Panchayat is supplied water from 650m3 OHR at Alto Betim, the source of which is from Assonora Water Treatment Plant, which treats the water to meet the parameters for quality of drinking water and the same is monitored 24 X 7.
“The said area was scouted on 18/07/2022, and on local enquiry, no complaints were received from consumers of contamination in piped supply. However, as precautionary measures, P.W.D has begun a collection of water samples for testing the same at PHE Lab,” he added.
