Panaji: Utpal Parrikar on Friday thanked voters who supported the Ami Panjekar panel in the CCP elections and said his commitment to the city of Panaji would continue despite the results not meeting expectations.
In a statement issued after the results, Parrikar expressed gratitude to voters, candidates, volunteers and supporters who backed the panel during the campaign.
“I sincerely thank every voter who supported the Ami Panjekar panel and believed in our vision for a better Panaji. My heartfelt gratitude also goes to our candidates, volunteers and supporters who worked tirelessly over the past weeks with honesty, dedication and deep love for our city,” he said.
Parrikar said the campaign was not merely about winning seats but about engaging citizens on issues concerning the future of the capital city.
“While the results are not what we had hoped for, this journey was never only about winning seats. It was about bringing citizens together to talk about the future of Panaji, about better planning, transparency and accountable governance that truly puts people first,” he said.
He also congratulated the winning candidates and expressed hope that they would fulfil the promises made to the electorate.
“I congratulate the winning candidates and sincerely hope they will work towards fulfilling promises made with commitment for the welfare and progress of our city,” Parrikar said.
The former legislator said his public engagement with the people of Panaji would continue even after the elections.
“My commitment to Panaji does not end with this election. We will continue to engage with citizens, raise issues that matter, and work constructively to address the challenges our city faces,” he said.
Describing public life as a long journey, Parrikar said both victories and setbacks are part of the process but the intention to serve must remain constant.
“Public life is a long journey. There will be victories and setbacks, but what must remain constant is the intention to serve,” he said, adding, “Thank you, Panaji. Our work continues.”
