MAPUSA: V M Salgaocar Corporation Pvt. Ltd. under its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative donated a fully functional ambulance to Village Panchayat of Parra which would aid in the provision of better medical and relief services to people of Parra, Anjuna, Assagaon and surrounding villages.
The Ambulance was inaugurated on 20th June 2021 by State Cabinet Minister for Ports, Science and Technology and Waste Management, Michael Lobo and other dignitaries.
Dattaraj Salgaocar, Chairman of V M Salgaocar Corporation Pvt. Ltd stated that “As a value-based organisation, V M Salgaocar Corporation Pvt. Ltd. is committed to continuing making a meaningful contribution towards the welfare of the society. The ambulance will help the well-being of the local population by giving them access to medical services on time. As responsible and a socially conscious business entity, we will continue to contribute towards the development of the community, and strive to provide aid in any form possible. The country is just recovering from the devastating 2nd wave of Covid-19, I would once again urge all to continue practising Covid appropriate behaviour and get vaccinated at the earliest”
Minister Michael Lobo, while thanking the company for its respectable gesture stated that “This generous donation from V M Salgaocar corporation Pvt Ltd will provide huge relief to both patients and doctors by ensuring faster and seamless healthcare solutions. I would like to thank Dattaraj Salgaocar for this donation, and for furthering our mission to help underserved masses through our healthcare services.”
During the devastating 2nd Covid wave recently V M Salgaocar and its sister concerns donated critical life-saving medical equipment such as ventilators and oxygen concentrators to various State-run medical institutions.
The company has also encouraged its employees to get vaccinated at the earliest wherever possible and will be reimbursing the cost of vaccination of its employees, spouses and their children above 18 wherever applicable.
