VALPOI: Valpoi Police Duty Master has landed in controversy after an audio clip surfaced in which he is allegedly heard demanding ₹1,500 per month from police staff for being posted at the Keri-Sattari outpost, located along the Goa–Karnataka border.
According to the recording, the Duty Master at Valpoi Police Station can be heard telling staff that they would have to pay the monthly amount if they wished to secure duty at the border outpost.
The revelation has sparked outrage, raising questions about corruption in duty postings within the police force.
Superintendent of Police (North) confirmed that an enquiry has been initiated into the matter. “Disciplinary action will be taken based on the outcome of the enquiry,” the SP assured.
The incident has cast a shadow on the functioning of the Valpoi Police Station, with calls for strict action to restore public confidence in the force.
