VALPOI: Health Minister and Valpoi MLA Vishwajit Rane chaired a high-level meeting to assess and enhance monsoon preparedness in Valpoi, convening with the Valpoi Municipal Council, Sarpanch and Panch members, along with key stakeholders.
The meeting was attended by officials including the Mamlatdar of Sattari Taluka, Police Inspector (Traffic Cell), Health Officer, Executive Engineer (PWD), and other concerned authorities.
With the onset of heavy monsoon showers in Valpoi, the Minister emphasized the urgency of proactive measures to mitigate potential risks to public safety.
“Given the intensity of rainfall in Valpoi and the potential risks it poses, I have directed concerned authorities to prioritise road repairs, ensure that street pole electricity cables are secure and functional, and that medical teams are ready to respond swiftly in emergencies,” Rane stated.
The Health Minister reiterated the government’s commitment to safeguarding the lives and well-being of citizens, particularly during the vulnerable monsoon months.
He also stressed the importance of coordination among departments to ensure prompt action in the event of weather-related incidents.
Local authorities have been urged to remain vigilant and responsive to emerging challenges during the season, while residents have been advised to exercise caution during heavy rains.
