PANAJI: JAB Club Vasco delivered a standout performance at the All Goa State Boxing Championship 2026, emerging as the overall champions and reinforcing their position as one of Goa’s most formidable boxing academies. The championship was held at Monte de Guirim in Bardez and brought together leading boxing talent from across the state under a highly competitive environment.
A total of thirteen teams from various parts of Goa participated in the tournament, contesting bouts across multiple age groups and weight categories. Amid stiff competition, JAB Club Vasco dominated the medal tally with an exceptional collection of 30 medals. Their haul included 18 gold medals, five silver medals and seven bronze medals, a clear reflection of the depth and quality of training at the club.
The achievement marked a proud moment for Mormugao Taluka, as the Vasco based academy outperformed established teams to secure the overall first position. Observers noted the consistency and technical sharpness displayed by JAB boxers throughout the championship, with many bouts decided through decisive and disciplined performances inside the ring.
The club leadership credited the success to structured training programmes and the commitment shown by the athletes. Emphasis was placed on discipline, mental strength and sustained effort as key factors behind the impressive showing. The championship result was seen as a reward for years of focused preparation and a strong training culture within the club.
Beyond competitive success, the club reiterated its broader vision of using boxing as a tool for personal development. Training at the JAB Club facility at Joggers Park in Dabolim places equal importance on physical fitness, self confidence, discipline and character building. The club continues to encourage parents to introduce their children to boxing as a means of holistic growth, not just as a medal winning pursuit.
Officials associated with the championship said the dominant performance has further enhanced JAB Club Vasco’s standing on the Goa boxing circuit. With this result, the club has set a high benchmark for future state level competitions and has signalled its intent to remain a major force in Goan boxing.
