VASCO: Vasco Police have arrested two youths from Karnataka for allegedly stealing three two-wheelers, including two Activa scooters and one TVS Ntorq, from different parts of Vasco. The accused have been identified as Vaibhav Dattatray Ranadive (19), a resident of Sancoale and native of Karwar, and Azaran Iqbal Shaikh (18), a resident of Sanguem and native of Haveri, Karnataka.
According to police, the duo had stolen a TVS Ntorq (GA-06-Y-7790), a grey Activa scooter (GA-08-W-7706), and another white Activa without a registration number from an open public parking area. The thefts occurred prior to October 5, 2025.
Based on a complaint lodged by Head Constable Hemantkumar Gosavi attached to Vasco Police Station, an offence under Sections 303(2) read with 3(5) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), 2023, was registered and both accused were arrested on Monday
The duo was later produced before the Judicial Magistrate First Class (JMFC), Vasco, where the court granted four days of police custody remand. Police stated that all Supreme Court guidelines were duly followed during the arrests and subsequent procedures.
Further investigation is being conducted by Head Constable Hemantkumar Gosavi under the supervision of PI Vaibhav Naik of Vasco Police Station. Police are probing whether the accused are involved in similar vehicle theft cases in other parts of the State.
