VASCO: Vasco police arrested four men in a narcotics raid near the Marin Resort behind Vales junction at Dabolim on Thursday afternoon, seizing; Hydrophonic and charas valued at ₹2.8 lakh in the open market.
Police said the operation was conducted between 1.37 pm and 4.20 pm based on a complaint filed by PSI Nikhil Naik Dessai, attached to Vasco police station. The accused were identified as Abdullah Khan (30), a taxi driver from Coelho Arcade, Vasco; Nilesh Dhuri (27) of New Vaddem; Numaiz Shaikh (20), a businessman from Baina; and Akhil Kumar (26), a service employee residing near MES College, Zuarinagar.
The four were caught red-handed while in possession of hydroponic charas weighing 48 grams. The narcotics are suspected to be for illegal distribution.
Police have booked the accused under Sections 20(b)(ii)(B) and 29 of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act, 1985. Investigations are underway to trace the source of the contraband and whether the accused are linked to a larger supply network.
