VASCO: Vasco police have arrested two men from Nagpur, Maharashtra, after seizing a haul of electronic items that included 28 mobile phones and four laptops, all suspected to be stolen property.
The action followed a complaint lodged by police constable Rajesh Bandodkar of Vasco Police Station. According to the complaint, the accused, identified as Rajesh Bhat and Dilip Kumar, both residents of Nagpur, were found in possession of several mobile phones and laptops of different companies. Police stated that the duo had acted with common intention in committing the thefts.
Based on the complaint, Vasco police registered an offence under sections 112 and 303(2) read with 3(5) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, 2023. The accused were subsequently arrested, and the stolen items attached from their possession. They have now been remanded to three days of police custody for further interrogation.
The investigation is being carried out by PSI Nikhil Naik Dessai of Vasco Police Station, under the supervision of PI Vaibhav Naik and guidance of Mormugao DySP Gurudas Kadam. Police said further probe is underway to trace the origins of the seized property and ascertain if the accused are involved in similar thefts elsewhere.
