VASCO: In a swift and successful operation, the Vasco Police have safely traced a 16-year-old minor girl who was reported missing from the vicinity of Government High School, Mangoor Hill, on December 16, 2025. Following a formal complaint by the girl’s father, a case was registered under Section 137 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) 2023 and Section 8 of the Goa Children’s Act.
Under the guidance of PI Vasco Shri Vaibhav D. Naik and PI Shri John Fernandes, a specialized team led by PSI Mayur Ketan Sawant, along with PC Venkatesh and LPC Apurva Chodankar, was immediately dispatched to Delhi to pursue specific leads. By leveraging a combination of technical surveillance and human intelligence gathered from local informants, the team successfully located and secured the minor.
The minor girl was thereafter safely brought back to Goa and, following due legal formalities, was reunited with her family. The Vasco Police have commended the prompt and coordinated efforts of the team involved in ensuring the safe return of the minor.
