As the spring season unfolds in Goa, the city of Vasco is gearing up for a spectacular display of cultural heritage. The Murgao Shigmotsav Samitee has announced a series of events leading up to the grand Shigmo float parade on March 21, 2025. This vibrant festival, which begins on March 14, promises to bring the community together with a rich tapestry of folk performances, musical nights, and theatrical shows. The festivities will kick off with the traditional Dhulivandan at Shri Damodar Temple, setting the stage for an exciting lineup of cultural activities.
The celebrations will include a variety of events, such as Marathi and Goan musical nights, as well as theatrical performances at the Vasco municipal square. One of the highlights will be the Maharashtrachi Hasya Jatra on March 19, followed by a grand orchestra event on March 20. The culmination of these festivities will be the grand Shigmo float parade on March 21, which promises to showcase the rich cultural heritage of Goa in a spectacular display of floats, music, and dance.
