VASCO: Vasco traffic cell PI Shailesh Narvekar on Tuesday evening appealed to the people to refrain from parking their cars along the Highway while warning that the Traffic department will be launching a drive against wrong parking and abandoned cars from Wednesday
“We have seen that many vehicles are parked along the Highway between Varunapuri and Goa Airport on either side, and this is dangerous and leads to accidents. Sometimes people don’t get away, and sometimes pedestrians are caught unaware of vehicles moving along the Highway due to these parked vehicles. We request the owners to remove their vehicles because we will start a drive from tomorrow and start initiating action that includes fines and issuing of challans,” said Narvekar.
He said they will also start acting on abandoned vehicles and have already issued notices to the owners of these cars.
“We will have to act as per law and act against these abandoned vehicles. We have already started issuing notices, and some abandoned vehicles in the city have already been removed. I once again request the people to refrain from parking on roadsides and also clear the abandoned vehicles before we start our drive because this is dangerous for other vehicles and pedestrians as well,” said Narvekar.
