New Delhi: Indian mixed martial arts athlete Veer Bhadu created history by securing the nation’s first-ever MMA medal at the Asian Youth Games, winning a bronze in the Men’s 80 Kg category.
Bhadu clinched the medal with a unanimous decision victory over Thailand’s Dechachot Barisri, marking a landmark achievement for India in the sport. His performance showcased determination and skill, earning him a podium finish in a competitive field.
The medal also contributed to India’s overall tally at the Asian Youth Games in Bahrain, bringing the country’s count to 12 medals, including two gold, three silver, and seven bronze.
Bhadu’s historic win not only highlights India’s growing presence in MMA at the youth level but also sets a benchmark for aspiring athletes in combat sports, signaling the nation’s potential in international mixed martial arts competitions.
