VASCO: A police sub-inspector attached to the Mormugao police station was booked for raping and cheating a woman on Tuesday.
Verna police filed an FIR against the PSI under sections 376 and 420 IPC on complaint by the woman. No arrest has been made yet.
The police said that the offence vide Verna Police Station Cr No 46/2021 u/s 376,420,323, 506 (ii) & 427 IPC dated 22.06.2021 at 20.42 hrs has been registered upon the complaint of one Jankhana Lodhiya d/o Nitin Lodhiya, age:-27 yrs, resident of Mormugao-Goa saying that Rushal Pinge Police Sub Inspector in Goa Police, r/o Harbour, Mormugao-Goa developed friendship with the complainant through facebook by presenting himself as bachelor when he was undergoing training at Nasik Maharashtra.
The complainant said that on 25.10.2019, the accused confessed that he was married but was on the verge of separation by divorce.
She also alleged that on December 14, 2019, the accused forcefully had sex at Ginger Hotel, Nasik.
Thereafter the accused cheated the complainant and her parents for a tune of Rs 44,00,000/- by various transactions with and without the knowledge of the complainant. When her parents and when the complainant revealed her plans of filing police complaint, the accused person made them believe that he is separating from his first wife and further on January 6, 2021, at Estilo Pinto Villa, Sancoale got married with the complainant as per religious rites.
However, on April 4, 2021 the accused person threatened the complainant to kill her and physically assaulted her.
