Verna:Verna police arrested a 28-year-old man , a resident of Verna but a native of Madhya Pradesh for possession of 2.2 kg of ganja, valued at approximately ₹2.213 lakh, during a narcotics raid behind the Pirni Circle bus stop in Verna on Monday evening.
Acting on specific and reliable intelligence, the raid was conducted between 6:00 pm and 9:19 pm on Monday evening. The accused, identified as Rahul Kumar Kerwat, was caught with the contraband at the scene.
Originally from Ward No. 7, Pasle, Anupur in Madhya Pradesh, Kerwat was currently residing at H.No.181, Kumborda, Verna.
Verna Police have registered an offence under section 20(b)(ii)(b) of the NDPS Act.
The seized narcotics were documented under a panchanama, and all legal procedures under the NDPS Act were followed. The accused has been taken into police custody.
