VERNA: Three persons and some unknown persons were booked by the Verna Police under copyright infringement for playing copyrighted film songs during a public event in a resort & Spa from Salcete.
As per the information given by the Verna PSI Sanket Talkar, Verna Police registered offence under section 63, 69 r/w(a)51 of Copy Right Act stands registered upon a complaint to the effect that
on between 18.03.2022 and 28.03.2022, a Resort & Spa from, Uttorda, Salcette, Goa, persons namely Basant Kumar Goswami
Director, Raju Bharat, Director, Tapajir Bhattacharjee,
Manager and all other unknown persons of a Resort & Spa being the management of a Resort & Spa organized an event within the premises of the said resort to the public and played sound recordings ofmovie/album love aaj kal’ song “Twist’ and movie/album ‘Baar Baar Dekho song Kala chasma, without the authorization from a complainant’s copyright holding company.
PSI Sanket Talkar of Verna police station is investigating the matter.
