VERNA: Verna police late on September 28, 2025, around 11.30 pm, raided a premises near Tata Rio, Zuarinagar, Sancoale, and busted an online gambling racket operating around the high-voltage India–Pakistan T-20 Asia Cup clash. Acting on the complaint of PSI Carey Fernandes, police apprehended five accused persons — Deepak Karwani (Madhya Pradesh), Manoj Kumar (Bihar), Madan Mukhiya (Bihar), Jagdish Choudhary (Maharashtra), and Arvind Vishwakarma (Maharashtra) — all currently residing near Tata Rio, Zuarinagar. The accused were caught red-handed while accepting online bets on the match. Police seized 54 mobile phones, six laptops, two internet routers, one television set, 17 bank passbooks, and other electronic accessories, all valued at approximately ₹10 lakh. Further investigation is being carried out by PSI Carey Fernandes of Verna Police Station.
