Vasco: Acting on the directions of the JMFC “C” Court, Vasco, Verna Police have registered a case of bigamy against a 38-year-old resident of Zorint, Sancoale.
The complaint alleges that accused Derrick Vales, the second husband of the complainant, deceived her into believing that his first marriage had been dissolved before solemnising a second marriage with her before the Marriage Registrar at Mantralaya, Mumbai.
It has further been alleged that during their stay together at Sancoale, the accused engaged in sexual relations with the complainant through deceitful means, thereby committing the offence of bigamy.
Police have registered the offence under Section 175(3) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, 2023, following the court’s directions. The investigation is being carried out by LPSI Pramila Fernandes of Verna Police Station.
