SANCOALE: Verna police have registered an offense under section 17-A of the Town and Country Planning Act following a complaint by Dharmendra Marathe, a Draftsman Grade II from the Mormugao Planning and Development Authority, regarding illegal hill cutting in Sancoale village.
According to the complaint, the incident occurred before May 30, 2024, at property bearing survey number 278/1 in Sancoale village, Mormugao Taluka. Marathe reported that unknown persons had carried out unauthorized hill cutting in the area without obtaining necessary approvals or permissions from the chief town planner.
The investigation is currently being led by PSI Nikhil Desai of Verna Police Station under the supervision of PI Melson Colaco and with guidance from Mormugao DySP Gurudas Kadam. Authorities are working to identify those responsible and prevent further unauthorized land alterations in the area.
