Porvorim: Goa Forward Party President and Fatorda MLA Vijai Sardesai slammed the Chief Minister of Goa for presenting a hollow, misleading budget, calling it “a packet of chips, all air, no substance.”
“In one breath, the CM says we have a ₹2,500 crore revenue surplus, and in the next, he’s borrowing ₹2,000 crore. Where’s the logic?” Sardesai questioned in the Assembly.
He pointed out inflated GSDP figures, shifting from ₹1.2 lakh crore to ₹1.41 lakh crore, and warned that this “fiscal math doesn’t add up.” He added that even the Ministry of Statistics says Goa needs 21.74% growth to meet this budget, clearly unrealistic.
“If there’s surplus, why borrow? This is not governance, it’s a gimmick,” he said. “This budget is all optics and zero delivery.”
