FATORDA: Goa Forward Chief Vijai Sardesai claimed that the MGP was using these remarks to ensure his survival following the Lok Sabha elections.
Sardesai also questioned Chief Minister Pramod Sawant clarify to the Goan populace if Dhavalikar will continue to serve in his Cabinet following the Lok Sabha elections.
Vijai was reacting to Dhavalikar’s remarks against the doubling tracking project by stating that the MGP leader had claimed, in front of TMC Leader Mahua Moitra, that the project is a plague on the Goan people.
“How is it possible for Dhavalikar to overlook the remarks he made prior to the 2022 Assembly elections? “People in Goa are aware that Dhavalikar is a chameleon, capable of changing both colour and posture,” he remarked.
Vijai said that he understands that he spoke about the track doubling project with full knowledge that he will be removed following the LS election and that the MLA who was chastised by opposition leader Yuri Alemao may take his place,” he continued.
Given that Dhavalikar is a prominent politician, I feel sorry for him. He must take this action to safeguard his Cabinet position rather than for the MGP. Since he won’t make it, he must speak. This is the actual situation.”
Chief Minister Pramod Sawant ought to clarify whether Dhavalikar will remain in the Cabinet, Sardesai said, pointing out that no BJP politician is in a position to definitively predict Dhavalikar’s future in the Cabinet.
