MAPUSA: The Sessions Court at Mapusa grants Bail to Pawan Badigar and Santosh Pillai in the infamous alleged contract killing case, where a man was set ablaze during the daylight at Torda Porvorim in October 2020.
Just a few weeks after the High Court of Bombay granted Bail to Prashant Dhabolkar and Iqbal Nanpuri, the Sessions Court at Mapusa granted bail to the remaining accused, relaxing the condition of the Bardez ban, unlike Dabholkar and Nanpuri.
Adv. Ritesh Rawal, who appeared for Bhayya alias Prashant Dabholkar argued for Pawan Badigar in the Sessions Court, while Adv Michael Nazareth appeared for accused Santosh Pillai.
It may be recalled that Vilas Methar was waylaid and set ablaze on the afternoon of October 14, at Torda, Porvorim. Methar succumbed to the burn injuries at Goa Medical College and Hospital in Bambolim a day later.
The six other accused arrested in the case are Santosh Pillai (29), Altaf Yargatti (37), Khayyad Sheikh (35), Pawan Badigar (30), Prashant Dabholkar (36) and Ikbal Nanpuri (31).
