CANACONA – Stating Canacona is facing a straight fight between Greed for Power (Power Hungry)Choice v/s Peoples’ choice, Congress informed Speaker of GLA is trying to impose a family Raj, first time in the taluka.
Canacona Congress Block president Prahlay Bhagat said, ‘In this Panchayat election 2022, the people of Canacona are witnessing rise to impose a family raj
episode in our taluka for the first time. After realizing that post of Sarpanch in Village
Panchayat Painginim is reserved for women, the greedy power MLA of Canacona (who is also GLA Speaker) Ramesh Tawadkar has fielded his wife, Savita Ramesh Tawadkar from Ward IX (Amone) of V.P. Painginim’.
“The lust for power has gone so high that the Hon’ble Speaker conveniently failed to utter a single word about family raj which he often shouted against Congress Party’.
Incidentally, in her candid acceptance after filling her nomination from ward 9 of Poinguinim, Savita Ramesh Tawadkar informed that she had filed a nomination in the last minute decision as the Sarpanch post of V.P. Painginim is reserved for women. Ironically, she further confessed that even though her
husband, Ramesh Tawadkar, had been successfully getting his supported candidate elected in the
past, the Amone ward (Ward IX) is not developed as expected, and she is fighting this election to develop the ward with the help of her husband and MLA Ramesh Tawadkar.
‘We applaud Savita Tawadkar for speaking the truth, which exposed her husband only, who, even after
getting elected 4 times as MLA from Canacona, failed to develop Canacona properly. Since 2012 the BJP is ruling the State, and Ramesh Tawadkar was a Minister in Manohar Parrikar’s Cabinet during 2012-2017. Even when he was a prominent minister, he failed to properly
visualize and understand the demand and needs of Canacona Taluka. But now he is showing us a
carrot by pretending to prepare a “VISION 2030” for Canacona’, Bhagat alleged.
According to the Congress party, the voters of Ward IX (Amone) of V.P. Painginim will give an unfortunate and big jolt to the dreams of Ramesh Tawadkar as a tough tussle are presently going on in Ward IX (Amone)
between the people’s choice, Anandu Shabu Dhaikar & who is supported by Congress along with other like-minded parties/people against Savita Tawadkar.
Though BJP Ramesh Tawadkar is using every trick to lure voters, the proud
voters of Ward IX will not easily fall into their trap of enforcing family raj. Congress claims that on one side mighty and powerful BJP is trying to
buckle voters anyhow for Speakers wife Savita Tawadkar, on the other hand, youth leader Janardhan Bhandari along with residents of Amonem, like Ulhas Tawadkar, Subhash Dhaikar,
Devidas Dhaikar, Prabhakar Dhaikar, Sandeep Velip, Gango Zoro, Savo Zoro, amongst others, are holding
together the fort of Ananda Shabu Dhaikar, whose ground response is increasing day by day, informed Canacona Block Congress Committee, President Pralay Bhagat.
Incidentally, Poinguinim ward no 9 has 3 contestants – Anandu Shabu Daiker, resident of Amone; Rasika Shantaram Velip, resident of Shishewal (a neighbouring locality) and Savita Ramesh Tawadkar, a native of Amone but residing at Chaudi (Canacona).
