VASCO: V. M. Salgaocar College of Law (VMSCL) has been honoured with the District Environment Award for Educational Institutes 2024-2025, an award initiated by the National EduTrust of India. Department Of Forest Panaji Goa representatives Narayan Pawar and Gouresh Gaonkar presented the award to college Principal Dr. Shaber Ali and Administrator D. P. Pednekar in the presence of other faculty members.
This recognition highlights VMSCL’s exemplary efforts in launching various environmental initiatives on campus. The college has been actively developing horticulture on campus since 2021, with faculty, staff, and students collectively contributing to this effort.
As part of the initiative, the college began planting flowers, fruit-bearing plants, and vegetables across the campus. These efforts have continued and now complement student activities, enhancing the campus environment. The Directorate of Agriculture Government of Goa, Ramanata Crisna Pai Raikar Education Society’s School Of Agriculture, Environment NGO Dhavrukh Goa and Environment Conservation and Research Organisation Goa has appreciated & recognised VMSCL’s Green initiatives and claimed to be a practice that can be implemented by other institutes.
“VMSCL’s remarkable achievement in promoting environmental conservation and sustainability is truly commendable,” Samarth Sharma, Chief Executive Officer of National EduTrust of India commented during the award declaration. The award recognises the institution’s commitment to fostering sustainable practices on campus.
