Panaji: Chairman of Goa Rehabilitation Board and Cumbarjua MLA Rajesh Faldessai has urged the voters of the constituency to strengthen the double-engine BJP government at the Centre and State by giving a 70% lead for the party’s North Goa Lok Sabha candidate Shripad Naik.
He was speaking in the presence of Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant at the ‘Viksit Bharat Modi Ki Guarantee Sankalp Patra Abhiyaan’ at Old Goa and Cumbarjua on Tuesday.
Sawant met traders vendors and shopkeepers at the panchayat hall, Old Goa, and also held a Labharthi Sammelan at Cumbarjua later in the evening.
In his address at Old Goa, Sawant praised Faldessai for his proactiveness in pursuing works in the constituency.
“I urge everyone, we want 100% voting for BJP, and I have no doubt that you will support our government and show your support for our Prime Minister Narendra Modi. There is only one guarantee in this country today, and that is the Modi Ka Guarantee for overall development. The BJP government has completed 10 years at the centre and 12 years in the state, and hence we have a double-engine government for double development, be it infrastructure or human development. So many schemes have been unveiled for women and the youth, especially skilling in various courses, and many of these courses are free of cost,” he said.
“Rajesh may have been elected on a Congress ticket, but he joined BJP for development and I welcome this. He is eager to complete the works of the people in the constituency and hence he supported the BJP. Whenever he meets me, he always tells me that this road needs repairs, or that bundh needs repairs, another culvert needs repairs. He is always concerned about the problems in the constituency and his people, especially the women and youth. and wants to resolve their issues and is working hard. We need all of you to support him,” he added.
Speaking later at Cumbarjua, Sawant said that Rajesh is very enthusiastic about completing work in a fast manner. He has been minutely monitoring all the works in the constituency.
“He has completed so much in the past 2 years, He has even taken up the pending road work being constructed at his own cost. He treats every person and family as his own. You are all lucky to get an MLA like him and it’s a blessing for you all. The BJP government under PM Modi has been focussing on Nari Shakti, Yuva Shakti, Kisan Shakti, and Garib Kalyan. Modi is concerned for the welfare of all sections of society and the upliftment of all citizens. I urge you all to press the Lotus button on May 7, and tell your family and friends even in South Goa to vote for the BJP candidate.”
Congratulating Dr Sawant for completing 5 years as chief minister, Faldessai urged all his constituents to vote for BJP for the forthcoming parliamentary polls on May 7 while addressing the gathering at Old Goa.
“I congratulate Dr. Pramod Sawant for completing 5 years as Chief Minister. Our CM is hardworking and clears all our files swiftly. He makes time at his bungalow and office. I pray that God gives him strength and health to carry on his good work,” he said.
“You have seen various projects like the Ayush Hospital, Zuari Bridge, Atal Setu, Mopa Airport, and other infrastructure works. Both the governments under Modi and Sawant have unveiled so many schemes and so many people have benefitted. We are working towards Viksit Bharat. Our BJP government has been doing good work under PM Modi for the past 10 years. We have his blessings. Whatever we have asked from him, the PM has given our state,” added Rajesh.
Speaking at Cumbarjua, Faldessai pointed out that there were so many schemes, even for barbers, carpenters and fishermen.
“We are focussing on the girl child, as well as the youth. As far as development goes, in our constituency, we never thought that we would get the Krishi Setu, the new agriculture college building, beautification of Old Goa, etc. Our Shripad Bhau is down to earth, while our CM is a superstar across the country as he goes around campaigning in other states. Our CM has the blessings of Modi, and other leaders like Home Minister Amit Shah and BJP President J P Nadda,” signed off Rajesh.
