CANACONA: A total of 335 votes have been cast in Canacona pertaining to disabled and 80+ age electorate out of the eligible 946 voters.
However, one of the 80+ people who submitted his 12D form is however not been approached, and his Vote will be taken up after 7 days of his quarantine period.
According to sources in Returning Office, out of 374 eligible disabled voters, 63 voters have submitted form 12D, while out of 572 persons above the age of 80 years, 262 electors have submitted their form 12D.
Accompanied by the respective BLO, 11 teams of election officers were formed and beginning Sunday (6th Feb), the voting exercise is completed in the Canacona constituency.
While the ECI appointed team visited and obtained voting slips from all the 63 disabled applicants, only 262 applicants above the age of 80+ were approached, and their voting slips were obtained. One of 80+ electors who filled form 12D was not approached after the elector was reportedly tested for Covid positive. His Vote will be obtained after completing his 7 days of the quarantine period.
Incidentally, there are 8 different candidates 3 candidates Independents (Isidore Fernandes, Vijay Poi Khot and Kanay Pagi), BJP (Ramesh Tawadkar), Congress (Janardhan Bhandari), AAP(Adv Anoop Kudtarkar), RG(Prashant Pagi) and TMC (Mahadev Dessai), who continue to canvas for the votes.
According to sources, some of the candidates have reached the houses of some of the electors (80+ and Disabled), whose votes have already been obtained and sealed by the Elections’ officials last Sunday and Monday.
