MARGAO: A Year-old man was declared dead at the South Goa District Hospital (SGDH), Margao, on Monday evening, after he collapsed at his workplace in Shantinagar.
According to information received by police at around 7.23 pm from the Casualty Police of SGDH, the deceased was identified as Annadurai Nallaiah, a resident of Shantinagar, Margao, originally from Tamil Nadu.
Police enquiries revealed that Nallaiah was working as a waiter at Leandras Kitchen, located in Shantinagar. As per the statements of the restaurant owners, Prabin Fernandes and Uday Kumar, the deceased complained of chest pain while on duty and subsequently collapsed in the kitchen. He was immediately shifted to SGDH, Margao, where doctors declared him brought dead.
Police visited the hospital and conducted an inquest panchanama. The body has been preserved at SGDH, Margao, for further medico-legal formalities to ascertain the exact cause of death. Further investigation is underway.
