PORVORIM: Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant today assured the house to solve the water problem across the state as soon as possible.
Sawant also assured to start pre-monsoon works as soon as possible.
“All these works to solve the water problem in the state as soon as possible and start pre-monsoon works,” said CM Sawant.
The opposition MLA’s had raised the issue of water supply across the state in the assembly and demanded a quick solution with the Chief Minister.
During the discussion, Calangute MLA Michael Lobo demanded pre-monsoon provision for the next two months.
“The places where flooding can be caused, whether nalla or streams, should be de-silted. The government should make provision for this in these two months of April and May,” said Lobo.
St.Andre MLA Viresh Borkar asked for repairs of old bandhs to prevent flooding and requested more staff like the police station at Agassaim.
“A lot of tanks have to be constructed for storage of water should be taken on priority. There is a water shortage, and people have to face difficulties,” he said.
Fatorda MLA Vijai Sardesai also demanded that PWD works must be completed before the arrival of the monsoon.
“The pending works of PWD are to the tune of Rs 20 cr,” said Vijai.
