Downplaying the allegations and police plaints filed by two of the 5-Star hotels operating in Canacona against congress leader Janardhan Bhandari and 24 other youths, residents of Rajbagh-Tarir filed a counter-complaint against the hotels for locals harassments and demanded immediate withdrawal of the FIR’s or else ready to launch and all-out agitation by all the residents of Rajbagh-Tarir and neighboring areas to demand justice.
Addressing media Ambeanas temple, which is just adjacent to newly launched Cloud9 Sarovar Premiere Hotel, around two youths hit out at the management of both the hotels for cheating the local people.
‘a large number of educated youths are unemployed in Rajbagh-Tarir and these unemployed youths should be given employment as assured while building the hotel. The management had called us for a discussion and when we went to a five-star hotel in Rajbagh, the security guards detained us for about an hour and did not allow us to meet the owner of the hotel. We didn’t go there on our own , but we were called, and Janardhan Bhandari who is closely associated with us accompanied us’, informed one of the local Surest Metri.
Another local Vaisnav pednekar informed, ‘ instead a police complaint has been lodged against us and a case has been registered against our young boys like 18 to 24 years of age to spoil their future. A case has been registered against us without any fault of the people of the village’.
Vaishnav Pednekar warned that if the complaints against us are not withdrawn, we will gather all the people of the village numbering more than 2500 to protest against both the hotels top demand justice.
Yashwant Madgaonkar informed Cloud 9 hotel has made wrong allegations against us and particularly Jana Bhandari to defame him politically. The owner Mr. Amit himself spoke to us arrogantly and didn’t cooperate for healthy discussions and got the issues raised by us resolved.
Vaishal Pagi, Ravish Komarpant, Abhishek Pagi and others were present on this occasion.
Suresh Metri, further informed, ‘While starting the construction work of the hotel, the hotel management had promised that the people of the village would get employment and even told us to buy taxis. But today, hotel management is raising its hand when it comes to providing employment. Suresh Metri further charged, “How appropriate is it that the waste water from the hotel is being discharged from the road next to the Ambenas temple and then enters residential areas”.
‘Janardhan Bhandari was not present there as a politician but his is a friend of many of us from many years ago and earlier he had done paperwork with the hotel management to get employment for the unemployed youth of Canacona. However, Yashwant Madgaonkar said that Janardan Bhandari had come to support us in presenting the views of the citizens of the village.
The youths saying by filing FIRs against our young boys, this hotels are disrupting their future which we wont tolerate and if the complaints are not taken back we along with all our family members which out number more than 2500 will protests outside the Gates of both these hotel in Rajbagh-Tarir’, Ravish komarpant..
