ASSOLNA: AICC General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra today said that all the karyakartas of Congress should work hard to restore Goa in the hands of Goans.
Priyanka Gandhi Vadra laid a wreath at Martyrs Memorial at Assolna, paying tributes to Freedom Fighters commemorating the 75th year of Goa Revolution Struggle, 60th year of Goa Liberation and 75th year of Independence of India.
“We must work hard to restore Goa in the hands of Goans; this is the central message, we must provide a government that works for Goa,” said Gandhi speaking to media
She further said that the state government’s sole aim must not be to capture Goa’s power and resources but to provide livelihood and jobs to the people.
“We have been receiving good feedback from our workers on the ground,” she said.
The Goa Congress faced a spate of resignations and confusion prevailed over its alliance with like-minded parties for the upcoming polls in the coastal state as the opposition party was getting ready for a series of meetings by general secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra today.
A group of Congress leaders from the Goa’s Porvorim assembly constituency resigned this morning. The group, supported by Independent MLA Rohan Khaunte, claimed the Congress was not serious about contesting the assembly polls likely to be held in early 2022.
Priyanka Gandhi Vadra is scheduled to address various events and interact with the youth and women during her day-long visit to Goa.
