BETIM: A 30-year-old West Bengali man was taken into custody by Porvorim police for being in possession of 1.745 kg of ganja worth Rs 1.75 lakh.
Based on credible information, Porvorim police carried out a raid in Betim and took Muhammad Sarkar into custody after it was purportedly discovered that he was in possession of 1.745 kg of Ganja.
Following an investigation, it was discovered that the accused had brought the contraband to Goa from West Bengal and was planning to deliver it to potential customers there.
As a result, a formal complaint has been filed under section 20(b)(ii)(B) of the NDPS Act 1985 against the accused.
