MAPUSA: Mapusa Police today has arrested West Bengal native for committing theft of mobile phone worth 15,000.
A case of theft has been reported to the Mapusa Police Station. The complaint was lodged by Sachin Motilal Rathod, a 24-year-old civil engineer residing at H. No. 466/5, Sai Colony, Madel Thivim, Bardez, Goa. On 04.07.2024 at approximately 15:57 hours, an incident occurred inside a fruit shop at the Sub Yard, Mapusa, Bardez, Goa.
According to the complaint, Mr. Mominul Mulla, a resident of Parra, Bardez, Goa, originally from West Bengal, entered the shop where the complainant’s brother, Amresh Chawan, was sleeping. Mulla allegedly stole a purple Vivo Y28 mobile handset, valued at Rs. 15,000, which belonged to the complainant and was being charged inside the shop.
The theft was captured on the CCTV camera installed in the shop.
With the assistance of local residents from Parra, the accused was apprehended in the Parra area. The accused has been remanded to police custody for three days. The investigation is ongoing to determine if the accused is involved in any other property offenses.
