ANJUNA: Early on March 15, 2024, Anjuna Police carried out a successful drug bust. A police squad commanded by LPSI Sneha Sawal, together with PC-7993 Dipesh Chodankar, PC-7030 Abhishek Kasar, PC-8368 Krishan Bugde, and PC-7534 Aniket Pednekar, acted upon precise and credible information obtained the previous night at 11:15 PM.
According to the intelligence, on March 15, 2024, between 1:15 AM and 1:30 AM, a suspected person was carrying drugs hidden inside a Grey Activa scooter and delivering them to potential consumers at Zor Waddo, Anjuna, Bardez, Goa.
Between 1:25 and 3:40 in the morning, a raid was carried out that resulted in the arrest of Ali Azam Sarkar, a 26-year-old resident of Anjuna, Bardez, Goa, who was originally from Panitara, Basanti, Dakshin Dinajpur, West Bengal. Sarkar was discovered in possession of 05.80 grams of pinkish-colored pills, which were thought to be Ecstasy, a psychoactive substance valued at approximately Rs. 1,10,000. The NDPS Act of 1985 was followed in conducting the seizure, along with all required protocols.
In accordance with NDPS Act section 22(b), a case has been filed at the Anjuna Police Station under Cr. No. 34/2024.
