PANAJI: In a shocking turn of events, videos of land-grabbing accused Siddiqui alias Suleman Khan, who is still at large, escaping from the Crime Branch lockup with the help of IRBn police constable Amit Naik surfaced.
He claimed that two police teams escorted him out of the State and accused Rahul Gupta, the Superintendent of Police (Crime Branch), and other individuals of assaulting him while he was in custody in front of Deputy Speaker Joshua D’Souza.
Congressman Sunil Kawthankar posted a video allegedly showing fugitive Siddiqui, also known as Suleiman Khan, who claimed he was escorted out of the State by two Goa police teams and did not break out of the jail on his own.
Kawthankar claims that Suleiman included SP Crime Branch Rahul Gupta and Deputy Speaker Joshua D’Souza in the video. Suleiman is heard in the video stating that if the case is turned over to the CBI for investigation, he is prepared to turn himself in.
Kauthankar continued, “Suleiman has claimed that he was beaten, threatened with an encounter by Goa Police, and coerced into transferring properties into other people’s names.”
Amit Naik, a former IRBn constable who attempted suicide while in police prison, was threatened with death, and Kawthankar asked for protection for him.
According to Kawthankar, the land-grabbing case is becoming a link between the BJP, the police, and the land mafia; otherwise, it would be impossible for someone to elude the Crime Branch’s custody.
He declared, “It is a state-sponsored scam.”
In addition, he asked how Amit Naik obtained phenyl and insisted that it be looked into whether he attempted suicide or if there was an attempt on his life.
Because they are powerful individuals, he was afraid that Deputy Speaker Joshua D’Souza, Crime Branch SP Rahul Gupta, and the Crime Branch and Old Goa Police personnel would murder him.
“Everyone in the nation is my opponent. My possessions were bought by me alone. Deputy Speaker Joshua D’Souza, Crime Branch SP Rahul Gupta, and representatives of the Crime Branch and Old Goa Police Station are the people I’m afraid of. They’re large people, and they might kill me. My name is being misused. I’m pleading for the CBI to be assigned the case. I haven’t gotten out of custody. They dropped me off at Hubballi.

“Sir, I am Siddiqui Khan speaking. SP Rahul Gupta, DSP Suraj Halarnkar and some PSIs, two constables of SIT were involved in my escape from lock-up.
In Rahul Gupta’s office Joshua had come and also one IGPand they beat me badly on the legs I cannot walk. They have threatened to encounter me. They have been using me for job scams, and land scams for the last three months. Two months back they demolished my house in Housing Board despite all sale deeds and documents in place. They think Francis purchased it in my name. Joshua says to transfer the land, I will give you the person’s name and that is why Joshua came at 11 pm at night. I did not escape they forced me to do so by physically assaulting me in SP Rahul Gupta’s cabin and Rahul Gupta said “If you tell anyone I will encounter you. I am from Delhi and an IPS in India we have contacts and I can get you killed anywhere.”
If you see Rahul Gupta’s office CCTV footage, I was arrested on 12/11/2024 and also footage of 12/12/2024 you will see the torture I went through.
I have no enemies anywhere. The civil cases etc are going on. Joshua thinks his father has purchased properties in my name. It’s wrong, I have worked hard and purchased properties.
My life is under threat from Joshua Dy Speaker, Crime Branch SP Rahul Gupta, Crime Branch Police, and Old Goa Police and if anything happens to me or I am dead these people should be held responsible.
They are trying to misuse my name by linking me to job and land scams.
I beg with all you Goans and media brothers and sisters put pressure on the government to give this case to CBI.
Sir, if this case is given to CBI I am ready to surrender. 142 case number needs to be investigated by CBI. What they are saying I escaped in fact they have forced me to escape. I did not escape till the Hubbali police escorted me.
A 12-member team were involved in escorting me to Hubbali. They have put some conditions for my release and now they are saying I escaped. I am threatened that if I speak out my wife and kids would be arrested.
I request again, I am ready to surrender before CBI in their custody for investigation.”
