PANAJI: Governor of Bihar Rajendra Arlekar said that there should be no doubt about whether Shivaji Maharaj is considered a god or not.
“Why should anyone be unsure of Shivaji Maharaj’s divinity? Every national hero is a god to us, according to people who don’t love their country,” Arlekar stated at a gathering.
After being accused of making a controversial speech, Fr. Bolmax Pereira, the parish priest of Chicalim, was charged under Sections 295 and 504 of the Indian Penal Code for defiling a place of worship and maliciously insulting someone with the aim to cause a disturbance.
The Shiv Premis and other activists have called for Fr. Pereira’s arrest despite his apology
