PANAJI: Tourism Minister Rohan Khaunte said that shack owners who sublet their allotted properties will be blacklisted and will not be permitted to apply again,
“99 shacks have violated regulations, showcause notice issued to them, will act after reply, those who sublet shacks will be blacklisted & they will not be permitted to apply again,” said Khaunte
Reacting to MLA Lobo’s state, Khaunte said that every MLA should be responsible to what he says.
“We have already put up our figures showing 3% rise in tourists in the state. In terms of International footfalls, we are comfortably sailing through and we need cooperation of our MLAs to give positivity and positive message,” he added
Khaunte said that if he (Michael) has any issue, he should call up and inform. I don’t know if something else is ‘itching’ Michael.
“As far as tourism is concerned, we have crossed the national average and our number are better than what they were last year. We need good foreigners, its not about the numbers. Don’t know from where Michael is getting his data that tourists are declined,” he added
Tourism minister also said that they won’t allow any Verma or Sharma to take over Goa’s traditional shack business. “We will take strong action against people who sub let their shacks” said Khaunte
