Minister Nilesh Cabral today informed that the state government would not allow Goa to be a coal hub.
“We as govt are very firm nobody should tell us that coal is not required
10-12 metric tons which is coming to goa cannot be stopped, Any stoppage of coal handling will lead to large scale unemployment,” Cabral said
He said, “Whatever activities are coming to goa are not for coal ..we will ensure that coal handling and transportation is restricted and not exceed its limit.”
Cabral further said that CM will come out with proper statement that only the existing coal handling will be permitted and not more than permissible capacity come to mpt
There are no coal handling activities in Goa in anywhere in Goa which will be part of this projects including Mollem, It is purely for people transportation
I have got all the documents and can prove with proof,’ he added
CM will take written assurance from center that no coal comes to goa from what is permitted, Cabral said
